Start Cleansing with Three Simple Steps

Cleansing is an essential aspect of the natural rhythms of our bodies and our lives. The transition between seasons has traditionally been considered a time to detoxify, clean house, and prepare for the coming shift in energy of our surroundings. Now that Autumn Equinox is here, it’s a good time to consider some cleansing.

In this article, we go over three easy things you can do to begin to detoxify in a gentle and easy way.

Did you know that more than one hundred thousand new toxic chemicals have been introduced to our environment since the thirties? Although “scientism” may have begun with good intentions, we hear more and more every day about the disastrous consequences of having gone down that road.

This is why we look back to nature to determine what we can do to fit into the cycles and patterns that rule this universe. This is what cleansing and detoxification is all about – resetting ourselves.

Keeping it simple is a winning strategy. The truth is that your body is an incredible, complex and hyper-intelligent organism that is constantly doing the work of cleansing on it’s own. The idea is to simply take a few steps to help your body along.

Nutrition plays a vital role, however it’s far from the full symphony. In many ways, cleansing is more about what you take away versus what you put in. You can also upgrade and replace certain parts of your daily routine to facilitate your body’s efficient cleansing.

Here are three simple things anyone can do to get the body’s juices flowing and begin to tune in to your natural cycles.

  1. Eliminate breakfast. The word breakfast comes from the concept of “breaking your fast”, reintroducing food after allowing your digestive tract to rest. As calorie restriction is the most proven form of life extension, naturally skipping breakfast and extending your fast can do wonders for your gut health. When you give your body extended time to rest (including and especially the very important digestive system), your body has an increased ability to heal itself.  Note that intermittent fasting isn’t right for everyone, especially those with adrenal issues or who are prone to anxious thoughts.
  2. Replace coffee and store-bought drinks with a mineral rich and hydrating beverage. The basic things you need to keep yourself hydrated and your energy high are minerals, hydrogen (sweetness), and weak organic acids, plus some healthy fats. You can easily make a daily beverage that keeps you refreshed and hydrated throughout the day using simple ingredients. One example is to blend honey, sea salt, and lemon juice with some clean water, and you’re good to go. I will make a short video to show you an example of how to make this type of drink, so stay tuned.
  3. Get your body in motion. This is key. You’ve got to have motion in your ocean and not just be about the notion of a potion! This can be as simple as a walk through a forested area, doing some basic yoga or pilates stretches, bouncing up and down on a trampoline (one of my favorites), or even just rolling around on the floor! The point is to move, and get yourself lymphosized – get your lymph moving. There are all kinds of ways to start a simple movement practice, you’ve just got to choose what fits for you.

This is as simple as it gets, and though it may sound like nothing, doing these things can make a radical difference. Take small steps daily, take bite-size chunks, and in no time you will feel bright, energetic, and ready to take it to the next level. When you feel ready, you can begin to take on some more intensive forms of cleansing as you are drawn to.

Keep in mind, your body is a glorious creation, and there’s no need to overthink or complicate things. We’ve got to get out of our own way and let nature take its course.
